At Decatur’s MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) Station renovation project, concrete pavers allowed architects to create a bold pavement design that celebrates the city’s rich culture and history. Through the use of contrasting colors, finishes and reliefs, the pavements honor many of the local landmarks and historic institutions in and around Atlanta.
This project earned 1st Place in the 2007 Georgia Chapter ACI awards in the Hardscape Category, Honorable Mention in the 2007 Decorative and Durable Designs Concrete Pavements Awards in the Commercial Precast Category and 1st Place in the 2008 Hardscape North America Commercial Concrete Paver 10,000-50,000 sq. ft. Category.
