Transforming Atlanta's former Olympic Stadium to Turner Field originally called for integrally colored concrete paving. However, when winter rains threatened to delay the project completion, the plaza and site paving were revised to concrete pavers with minimal cost impact. In spite of weather delays, Site Tech worked around the clock to beat the opening day deadline, installing over 133,000 square feet of concrete pavers in only 31 days!
This project earned Honorable Mention in the 1997 Decorative & Durable Design Awards, Precast Commercial category, 1st Place in the 1997 Georgia Chapter ACI awards, Paving Category, and Honorable Mention in the North American Pavement Design Awards, Precast Commercial Category.
